What to do if my pj shirt goes down to my knees?

I have got a new pj shirt the other day that goes down to my knees in length and I have been having pj pants but i want to know would i stay cooler in the summer without my pants on to sleep in.. And should i not wear pants to sleep in since my shirt is this long? I hope you can understand my question right :P)
